Kaua‘i Hospice Staff Crystal Stoner, MSW Medical Social Worker
Kaua`i Hospice is proud to announce that Crystal Stoner has joined our ohana as our Medical Social Worker and integral member of the Interdisciplinary Team. Crystal Stoner was born and raised in Southeast Alaska. She went to school in Tucson, Arizona where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology at University of Arizona and her Masters degree in Social Work at Arizona State University.
Before coming to Kauai Hospice, Crystal worked as a Medical Social Worker at Wilcox Memorial Hospital for 5 years. Her initial contact with Hospice was through meeting Hospice team members who came to the hospital to assist in transitioning dying patients home and through the Beeper Team responses. I was impressed at how well a whole team could work together to meet the many varied needs of patients as well as their families, Crystal states.
When she is not working, Crystal enjoys spending time with her husband Dennis and other extended family she has on island. She also enjoys reading, hiking and swimming.
